CORAOPOLIS, Pa. — The Ruffed Grouse Society and American Woodcock Society are honored to announce the extension of a historic commitment to conservation by a critical partner organization, Purina, a premier global manufacturer of pet products. With a renewed partnership in place between the organizations, Purina will continue to support the RGS/AWS conservation network in the improvement of wildlife habitat and forest health. In addition, RGS/AWS membership will benefit through the contributions and expertise of Purina staff on all things related to bird dog health and nutrition.

“Purina and RGS/AWS members share a deep passion for the outdoors and their bird dogs,” said Purina Director of Sporting Dog Programs Karl Gunzer. “We are excited to continue Purina’s longstanding partnership with RGS/AWS and are aligned with its conservation mission to improve wildlife habitat and forest health for future generations.”

Beyond its financial contributions, Purina will also continue to benefit the RGS/AWS membership by submitting sporting dog content to Covers magazine and RGS/AWS website and staffing RGS/AWS events with sporting dog and veterinary experts.

At the hands of the RGS/AWS staff of biologists and other professionals, Purina’s contributions and continued commitment to the organization will be leveraged for maximum habitat impact via matching funds and grant opportunities.

The renewed commitment from Purina comes at a time when ruffed grouse and American woodcock are considered species of greatest conservation need in at least 18 states, a fact that lies at the core of the RGS/AWS mission and one that is clearly not lost on Purina.
