Go birding at Summit Lake State Park, Oct. 6.
Join the Robert Cooper Audubon Society (RCAS) on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. to catch a glimpse of fall migration along the shores and woods of Summit State Park.
With miles of shoreline, Summit Lake typically hosts a variety of waterfowl, loons, and other shorebirds, while the mature woods offer opportunities to spy foraging residents, such as pileated woodpeckers and brown creepers.
Participants will meet RCAS President, Mary Annette Rose, at the beach house parking lot at 9 a.m. A limited supply of binoculars will be available.
Participation is free and open to everyone after the standard gate fee of $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
