Bill Hicks, the founder of Bill Hicks & Co., Ltd., started the company in 1969 out of his passion for collecting firearms. As his personal collection grew, he discovered the possibilities of indulging his passion while making money at the same time, and began buying and selling collectible firearms out of his home. He soon expanded into the gun show circuit, and with the help of his children, Matt and Shelly, the family business began to thrive.

A separate office building was acquired in the early 80's that offered 15,000 square feet of space to warehouse the flourishing business. Things continued to skyrocket, however, and it became necessary to expand again. In 1988, an additional 45,000 square feet of space were added to the existing building, creating 60,000 square feet of space to warehouse more than 30,000 different products representing more than 300 well established and respected lines.

Today, Bill Hicks & Co., Ltd. remains a family owned and operated business. Bill is still involved as CEO, but his daughter and son run the company on a day to day basis. The company employs more than 90 people and takes pride in providing great benefits and a positive work environment, as illustrated by its many longstanding employees who have been on board for more than 10, 15 or 20 years.

What began as one man's passion for firearms has become a multi-million dollar enterprise that serves the needs of the hunting and shooting sports industry on a national level. While the company has grown and changed dramatically over the years, it continues the family tradition of building long-term relationships, of providing exceptional products at fair prices, and of delivering extraordinary customer service.
