UPDATE: Missing Man at Monroe Lake (Monroe County)

The body of Keynner Lugo, 27, has been recovered from Monroe Lake.

Indiana Conservation Officers located and recovered the victim Tuesday morning at 7:49 a.m. approximately 200 yards from where he was last seen.

Release as of August 18, 2025, at 11:03 a.m.

Indiana Conservation Officer are currently searching for a missing man at Monroe Lake.

Initial investigation reveals that Keynner Lugo, 27, was attempting to swim to shore from a boat yesterday when he began to struggle and went underwater.

At 1:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Allen’s Creek area of Monroe Lake. Search operations were immediately initiated using side-scan, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) sonar, and conservation officer divers. Search efforts were suspended yesterday due to darkness and resumed this morning.

Other boaters in the area attempted to help Lugo, but they were unsuccessful.
