SHOT Snaps

While you're cursing the aisles of a massive trade show, you may be inclined to tune out the fact that the people you encounter are just that, people. Yesterday, as SHOT Show formerly got underway, editor Jim Shepherd went out with the intent of looking at people first, and then their products. Here are a few of the "faces in the crowd."

The SHOT NEXT area is a great spot for people watching while you're checking out new products. One of the most intriguing products is the intelliSCOPE- a smartphone-based device that allows you to turn your phone into a shooting optic. Drop by their space in the NEXT area and you'll likely find company founder Jason Giddings smiling and ready to tell you about his product.

If your name is also the name of your company, you're more than willing to take time to tell booth visitors about your products. Columbian-company Miguel Caballero specializes in body armor that also has lines that offer protection without the "tactical look". Stop by and you may find Miguel Caballero himself waiting to help you out.

And when you're people watching, you'll occasionally find yourself thinking you're looking at a person when you're actually looking at their costume. We don't know this gentleman's name, but we've been coming to SHOT and the NRA Annual Meetings for more than a decade- and we've never failed to notice his coat of many company "colors".
