Carbon Express® Pros Dominate at 2019 NFAA Indoor Nationals

SUPERIOR, WI — Sweeping the podium in the Professional Women’s Freestyle Division and taking top honors in the Professional Men’s Freestyle, Carbon Express team shooters took center stage at the conclusion of the 2019 NFAA Indoor Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Reading like a who’s who if international archery talent, the March 15-17 event brought participants from around the globe to the compete in what can be argued as the NFAAs second most prestigious event behind the famed Vegas Shoot. Positive energy filled the air at the Duke Energy Convention Center, with nearly 2,000 archers in attendance taking aim on the NFAA’s infamous blue five-spot target face.

Carbon Express’s Paige Pearce topped the podium in the Professional Women’s Freestyle Division after a head-to-head shoot off with CX teammate Cara Kelly. Each earned their spot on the line with scores of 600 with 119X’s, respectively. Paige captured victory after a single end of regulation and had this to say about the accomplishment, “This is my first time [winning Indoor Nationals]. It’s pretty awesome, I won three other NFAAs, so I was trying to get an indoor, I finally got one!” Meanwhile, third place was decided in a shoot off between Dusti Batsch and Tanja Jensen, who had finished the previous two days of scoring with tied scores of 600 and 118Xs. After two rounds or regulation Tanja secured third with a score of 25 to equal a clean sweep of the podium by Carbon Express women’s professional shooters.

After the first two days of competition, twenty-one men had shot clean, 600 120X scores qualifying them for the shoot off and a chance at the event’s $10,000 purse. Several rounds of intense arrows found Carbon Express Pro Team member Stephan Hansen claimed his second NFAA Indoor National Championship besting Jase Boils and Richard Bowen. “The first time it was easier because I didn’t have many expectations, this year I kinda knew I could do it, but I still had to do it. It’s tough but it’s awesome,” said Hansen.

“We couldn’t be more proud of how our team performed at this year’s NFAA Indoor Nationals. No matter whether they’re from the next state over like Cara or half way around the world like Stephan, they continue to display what can be achieved in competition at this level, especially with the unique inside out scoring that NFAA Indoor Nationals presents,” said FeraDyne’s Media Manager, Teri Quinn. “It was a great weekend with stiff competition and we can’t wait to see what they can accomplish throughout the rest of the year,” she added.
