Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) Promotes Helton to Accounting & Membership Services

Williamsburg, KY – Holly Helton of Barbourville, Ky has been promoted to Accounting & Membership Services for Scholastic 3-D Archery. Helton has been working for S3DA on a contract basis for a few months. She has made a great impact communicating with S3DA State Chapters across the United States and assisting them with paperwork needed to be in compliance with S3DA, Federal and State Code. S3DA Executive Director, Jennie Richardson, stated, “When the time came to fill the vacancy that Jim Reeder left behind in the Accounting & Membership Services role, Holly was a natural fit. Not only did she have the background and necessary skills needed to do a competent job, but she had already been working for S3DA for some time and was familiar with many financial aspects of the organization.”

Holly Helton is a 2017 graduate from the University of the Cumberlands where she earned her Masters in Business Administration and a 2013 graduate from Union College where she earned a dual Bachelors in Accounting and Business Administration. Through prior positions, she gained valuable experience in accounting, bookkeeping and payroll. She and her husband of 6 years, Tyler Helton, reside in Barbourville, KY where they are both avid outdoorsmen and conservationists. She grew up rifle hunting alongside her late father and was introduced to archery when she met her husband 8 years ago. Since picking up a bow, she has been able to successfully fill archery tags each year including a Kentucky Bull Elk. In their free time, Holly and her husband take great pride volunteering for a program called Hunting For The Cure, which provides children with terminal illnesses the opportunity to experience the great outdoors. Seeing first-hand how strongly archery can impact a child’s future is what drew her to S3DA. She is very excited for the chance to mesh her educational background and work experience with her passion for archery.

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
