Whitetails Unlimited recently issued a grant in the amount of $2,500 to the Scholastic 3D Archery program in support of their outdoor national tournament. This brings the total WTU has granted to S3DA to more than $12,500 over the past year. The outdoor tournament will take place July 9-11 in Mermet Lake State Park, Illinois. S3DA is expecting over 1,000 students from across the country to compete.
Started in 2015, S3DA focuses on indoor and outdoor 3-D archery competition. The program is an after school program that can be run through not only schools, but archery shops, churches, ASA clubs, fire stations, etc. Students are free to choose their own equipment with no restrictions on brand or company. Currently, S3DA has clubs competing in 38 states with more than 3,000 students participating.
"S3DA has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception," said Program Service Director Russ Austad. "It’s great to see an organization that has so much impact on the outdoor industry, doing so well."
