Spotted seatrout will be closed to recreational harvest Nov. 1 through Dec. 31 in the central east seatrout management zone, which includes all state and federal waters from Palm Beach through Volusia counties (see map for zones below).

Due to upgrades, Fairfax Pond Dam at the Fairfax Pond-Rehe Wildlife Management Area in Preston County is temporarily closed to fishing, waterfowl hunting and other recreation.
Tens of thousands of hunters in blaze orange will take to the fields when Iowa’s pheasant season opens October 31. With pheasant populations on par with the best counts in the past decade, including six of the nine survey regions averaging more than 20 pheasants per route - the most since 2007, hunters can afford to be optimistic.
Earlier this month Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks was notified of 18 deer from across the state that tested positive for chronic wasting disease.The positive deer all come from areas where CWD was previously known to exist.
A portion of Wilson Island State Recreation Area has reopened to the public, 19 months after floodwaters first inundated the public area, and then stayed for nine months. The popular campground and associated camping facilities, however, remain closed as work continues to get it back open for the spring of 2021.
The Wade Bourne Nature Center near Clarksville, Tennessee, will open to the public on Saturday, October 24.
Alabama’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources reminds anglers that flounder will be closed for harvest during the entire month of November for both commercial and recreational fishermen.
The general waterfowl and snipe seasons in Arizona's “Desert Zone” (Game Management Units 10 and 12B through 46B, and those portions of Units 6 and 8 within Yavapai County) begin Friday, October 23, and run through January 31, 2021.

Many upland game and waterfowl hunts are already underway across Utah. The general-season pheasant and quail hunts open November 7. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has some information on what hunters can expect.

Biologists with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission are asking the public to help them monitor the potential spread of a deadly rabbit disease that has not yet been observed in North Carolina’s rabbit populations by reporting any sightings of dead rabbits to the agency.
- WORKSHOPS -
Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host a virtual workshop, “Healthy Water, Healthy People,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27. The workshop is geared toward formal and informal educators teaching 6-12th grades.
