- BOATING -
Wearing a life jacket, avoiding alcohol, and taking a boating safety course tops the list of things you can do now to improve your chances of a long, safe summer of boating.
As part of the May 17 "Wear your Life Jacket to Work Day," the Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, employees of all disciplines will be wearing their life jackets to work that day to support the campaign.
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission urges all North Carolinians to practice safe habits while on the water this summer. A total of 35 people lost their lives due to boating accidents last year, the highest number of vessel-related fatalities since 1990.

- COMPETITION -
The United States compound archers dominated the second stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai, with Team Elite’s Alexis Ruiz at the forefront of competitors, collecting three medals on the weekend.
The second stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup concluded in Shanghai over the weekend with Scott Archery’s Braden Gellenthien and the United States compound team dominating the field.

An ultraviolet water disinfection system at the Michigan DNR’s Oden State Fish Hatchery in Emmet County. The system, which should be in place by mid-August, is critical for both cultivating Arctic grayling and other fish broodstock.
Dobbs Park Pond in Terre Haute is receiving 200 channel catfish as part of DNR’s Go FishIN in the City program.
If you are itching to get out on the water and want to catch a lot of fish, the Utah DWR suggests a few fun local spots that have large populations of fish managed for high catch rates.
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, Alabamians and visitors alike will have the opportunity to fish for free in most public waters including both freshwater and saltwater.
