Winter Wander Hike and bonfire at Spring Mill SP, Dec. 27

Wander the winter woods then warm yourself by an early evening bonfire at Spring Mill State Park on Dec. 27. The Winter Wander Hike will begin at 1 p.m. in front of the Nature Center. Explore areas of the park that can only be visited during the winter under the supervision of park staff. The hike will last approximately two hours, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

After the hike, warm up and socialize at the bonfire from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The theme of this year's bonfire is "Sassafras Social." Sassafras tea, made right over the campfire, sweetened with maple syrup, will be available to warm your spirits. Have a cup or two while socializing with other hardy folks. The bonfire will be held in the campground.

There is no fee for participation in the hike or bonfire; however, the park entrance fee, $5 per vehicle for Indiana residents or $7 per vehicle for out-of-state residents, is in effect for this event.
