WISCONSIN DELLS, Wisconsin -- For anyone who's ever enjoyed reeling in a fish on Lake Delton, and for those who'd like to give it a try once the lake is refilled, there is news this week that should have those fishing enthusiasts taking stock of their tackle boxes straight away. Officials representing the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Lake Delton Village Board will be gathering on Thursday, August 28th on the shores of the lake for the announcement of the Lake Delton Fisheries Restoration Project. Leading that project will be well-known outdoor writer and TV host Dan Small, in partnership with Ben Hobbins of Lake Resources-IronClads™, manufacturer of award-winning, environmentally friendly fishing lures.
Earlier this summer, sustained rains caused Lake Delton to breach its shoreline and drain into the nearby Wisconsin River. This small man-made lake on the outskirts of Wisconsin Dells is rimmed with small- and medium-size resorts. Reconstruction of the lake is on schedule, with this body of water expected to return in spring 2009 even more pristine than before.
