A Bright Idea: Leupold® Introduces New MX™ Modular Flashlights

BEAVERTON, Oregon — With a century of experience offering customers the pinnacle of quality and performance, Leupold® expands its product lines with the introduction of a completely modular flashlight – the MX™ series. The unique modular aspect of the MX allows users to create a flashlight by selecting from four interchangeable bezels, two maintubes and a tail switch, with new parts flowing into the mix throughout 2008.

“Users can build the flashlight that is perfect for their specific needs,” said Mike Slack, Leupold’s marketing communications manager. “Much like computers, flashlight technology is improving so rapidly that it’s nearly impossible to keep up-to-date. Rather than spending a few hundred dollars on an entirely new flashlight, MX owners will be able to purchase individual components to update their lights.”

Available MX Bezels range from simple, single mode Xenon and True White™ LED models to bezels with multi-mode, S.O.S. emergency flasher and a high intensity strobe. Models with multiple modes feature a magnetic sensor switch, and all models deliver water integrity to depths of more than 100 feet.

The MX Maintube is available in either two- or three-cell models. Both feature aggressive knurling for maximum grip in any weather. Combined with the tail switch, the maintube models provide easy, one-hand operation regardless of conditions.

Threaded to receive Alumina® accessories and light filters, the MX series features Leupold’s signature Golden Ring® (matte black on MX Tactical Bezel). With all the ruggedness and dependability of the company’s Golden Ring optics, the lights and components feature Leupold’s unlimited lifetime warranty, excluding bulbs and batteries.

Leupold & Stevens, Inc., the only prominent American-owned and -operated optics company, employs more than 650 people in its state-of-the-art Beaverton, Ore., facility where rugged, dependable, high-performance Golden Ring sports optics are designed, machined and assembled. Leupold is a fifth-generation, family-owned company. Winner of the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers Accessory Manufacturer of the Year for both 2006 and 2007, Leupold’s products are sold worldwide to hunters, wildlife observers, competitive shooters, law enforcement officers and special operations military personnel. The product line includes rifle, handgun and spotting scopes; binoculars; mounting systems; and optical tools and accessories.
