Winchester Gives Back Through Hunting Heritage Trust

Winchester® Ammunition, a division of Olin Corporation, has issued a check for more than $24,000 in support of the Hunting Heritage Trust program called "Give-A-Day For Years to Come."

Program participants include industry employees-from the people in the front office to the people on the loading dock-pledging one day's pay each year to support pro-hunting and shooting sports initiatives sponsored by the Trust.

Since becoming a major partner of the program in 2005, Olin employees have contributed more than $12,000, with Winchester Ammunition matching their contributions at the corporate level. By pledging a day's pay each year to support the Trust, Olin employees help preserve an American tradition and educate millions about worthwhile efforts of the shooting sports industry, including manufacturers, hunters and hunter-based organizations.

"This donation is a testament to the Olin-Winchester employees and their impact on the future of hunting and shooting sports traditions," said Dick Hammett, president of Winchester Ammunition. "Many people gave up a hard day s work of pay and for all the right reasons."

The mission and goals of the Trust include:
- Preserving the hunting and shooting sports heritage.
- Educating Americans about the contributions of hunters and hunter-based organizations.

The Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Trust, formed in 2002, created a charitable pathway by which contributions can be directed toward near-term priorities while also setting aside endowment funds to help perpetuate hunting and sports heritage for generations to come.
