Salamonie Lake hosts INShape Walk and trash can cooking, May 5
In conjunction with the statewide INshape DNR Day, May 5, Salamonie Lake will host a 10 a.m. hike on the wooded Salamonie Tree Trail and Marsh Trail with DNR staff.
Participants should wear comfortable weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a filled water bottle to quench their thirst during this walk on a moderate trail.
Salamonie Reservoir's boat ramp parking lot, in the Lost Bridge West State Recreation Area off of Highway 105 in western Huntington County, is the location of the Tree Trail trailhead.
At 11:30 a.m. the same day, Salamonie Interpretive Center, also in Lost Bridge West, with offer a sampling of healthy foods cooked in a trash can. Really, this type of cooking can be healthy and tastes great!
Visit www.INShape.IN.gov to download a coupon for free gate admission on the day of the walk. Free INShape T-shirts will be provided to participants in the walk on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those camping during the weekend should remember not bring firewood from quarantined counties.

The standard entrance fee ($4/car Monday-Thursday; $5/car Friday-Saturday-Sunday; $7/car for out-of-state license plates every day), will be charged, except for those with the coupon, May 5.
