WHO: Public and private stakeholders involved in Chesapeake Bay restoration efforts from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia
WHAT: (1) The Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fair will include nearly 100 exhibits in which hundreds of Bay restoration professionals will showcase the extensive work being done across the watershed by federal, state and local governments, watershed and non-governmental organizations, and private landowners.
(2) Watershed Awards Ceremony will recognize exceptional efforts with Executive Council Chair Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, District of Columbia Mayor Anthony Williams and Virginia State Senator Emmett W. Hanger, Jr.
WHERE: Sandy Point State Park, Annapolis
WHEN: Thursday, September 21, 2006 (1) Fair, 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (2) Awards Ceremony, 5:00 p.m.
WHY: The fair will highlight and promote watershed-wide Bay restoration efforts by providing an opportunity for the many Bay partners to share information on best management practices and foster restoration partnerships.
The fair is a prelude to the Annual Executive Council meeting which will be held at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 20. The public portion of the meeting will be from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.
*Please note that Governor Ehrlich will make an exciting announcement concerning the Captain John Smith Trail at Sandy Point State Park at 4 p.m. Separate advisory to be released.
