Mauser M18 Named 'Great Buy' by Outdoor Life Magazine

The ‘People’s Rifle’ Brings Mauser Back to the Masses

San Antonio, Texas  – The new Mauser M18 has been named ‘Great Buy’ by the editors of Outdoor Life magazine.   Each year, the Outdoor Life team spends a week testing the newest rifles to determine which are the best in the field.  The 2018 honor for ‘Great Buy’ goes to the iconic German gunmaker, Mauser, for its ultra-rugged and accurate M18.  Priced from $699, the M18 is available in .243 Win., .308 Win., .270 Win., .30-06, 7mm Rem. Mag., .300 Win. Mag. and 6.5 Creedmoor.

"The Mauser M18 is a great all-around hunting rifle, especially given its price. It is accurate, handles like a dream, and embodies the functional simplicity of Paul Mauser's classic M98."

—John B. Snow, Shooting Editor, Outdoor Life and Field & Stream

Thanks to its rugged synthetic stock, the M18 will withstand daily use in even the harshest hunting environments.  A three-position safety allows you to safely carry a round in the chamber without fear of the bolt being nudged out of battery. The steel receiver provides core strength and reliability to protect the action, and a cold-hammer-forged barrel gives further peace of mind that the rifle will perform consistently, round after round.

For optimum grip, the stock features two areas of soft-inlay.  The five-round magazine enables fast, fuss-free follow-up shots, and an adjustable trigger allows you to set your own preferred pull weight. Clean lines and high-quality materials result in a premium appearance, so that overall, the M18 has the look and feel of a rifle twice its price.

“The value of the M18 lies not only in its price but also in its ultimate reliability, durability, and accuracy,” said Christian Socher, CEO of Blaser USA, Mauser’s North American distributor.  “This is a rifle designed and built for the everyday hunter - truly ‘the people’s rifle’ – and we appreciate the recognition of its exceptional quality and value by the editors of Outdoor Life.”
