Whitetails Unlimited Awards $4,000 to Ohio’s Noble Soil & Water

Whitetails Unlimited recently awarded a $4,000 grant to Ohio’s Noble Soil and Water Conservation District for the purchase of a no-till drill. The drill is made available for area residents to rent for the purpose of installing grassland habitat and other small grain plants. The current drill rented by the soil and water conservation district is 21 years old and has planted over 4,000 acres in a seven-county area. The fact that the current drill has become unreliable, coupled with high demand in recent years, has created the need for a newer, more reliable drill.

“This is an outstanding program created by the Noble Soil and Water Conservation District,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad. “This gives area residents who may not otherwise have the means, the ability to create habitat and food sources for area wildlife such as the white-tailed deer.”
