Hi-Tech Shooting Sports Company Seeks Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Our client is looking for a skilled Sr. Manufacturing Engineer with strong hands-on machining and programming experience.  This recognized, hi-tech company is an established leader solidly entrenched in the shooting sports industry.

As their Sr. Manufacturing Engineer you’ll develop process flows and promote continuous improvements for CNC machining operations.  Additionally, you will anticipate and prevent potential issues and drive process improvements. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely within engineering team to determine methods and sequences of manufacturing operations for complex CNC machine components; select tools to optimize processes

  • Analyze existing designs to determine inspection criteria, solve production problems, or to improve manufacturing process.

  • Set up and run first piece

  • Suggest and implement cost reductions and quality improvements

  • Develop processes for new products on VMC, HMC, lathes and other multi-axis CNC machines to produce components in line with drawing specifications.

  • As needed, perform general troubleshooting and maintenance of machines to ensure a clean, organized and safe environment.

  • Write equipment specifications, qualification plans and procedures for acquisition of new equipment; determine Return on Investment (ROI) for project justification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degreed Engineer (BSME), preferred,  with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in firearms manufacturing is required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude as well as a background involving fixtures and gage design

  • Knowledge of CNC and PLC programming

  • Ability to read and manipulate G-Code 

  • General knowledge and ability to use CAD software

  • Committed to continuous process improvement through safety improvements, quality improvements, and cost reductions

  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization is required

  • Automation experience is a plus
