Gettin’ Families Fishin’ Launches R3 Series

To meet the 60/60 and R3 challenge of engaging today’s youth to experience fishing, new broadcast, digital channels, online networks, and education platforms reaching millions are part of the new launch of the Gettin’ Families Fishin’ entertainment and education initiative.
The first parts of this multi-media and multi-platform program launched recently with a classroom educational video, website sections, and lesson activity where teachers and students develop a plan to go fishing on National Forests. The project is part of an expanding R3 coalition of partners that include the Emmy-winning Into the Outdoors Television series, the U.S. Forest Service, the Future Angler Foundation, and NPAA.
To increase the national impact of this program, all entertainment and educational resources, including HD videos, are being made available free for unrestricted use to all state and federal agencies, R3 and fishing related orgs, as well as the entire fishing industry. Interested parties can preview and download videos and materials at, http://intotheoutdoors.org/topics/fishing-your-national-forests/
The full half-hour broadcast television program on Gettin’ Families Fishin’ will air in 22 markets in 7 Midwest states on the syndicated Into the Outdoors Television series May 12 and 13, on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. Regional broadcast will be followed with national distribution on 7 digital and online channels, including the ITO RokuTV Channel.
Additional free angling education videos and classroom lessons are also available on the initiative’s new companion website KidsFishing.US.
