CMP Seeking Staff Assistance for 2018 National Matches

By Ashley Brugnone, CMP Writer/Editor

After a successful first year with a crew of outstanding and knowledgeable range personnel, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is again in search of individuals to serve as members of NM Support Staff during our 2018 National Match events, held in July.

CMP NM Support Staff will be assisting with CMP National Match events only and will be picked from a selection process through all received applications (available on the CMP website). This year, the CMP will be needing assistance for pistol, rifle and smallbore events.

Duties for NM Support Staff members may include firing line work as range officers, helping with stats/scorecards, along with other tasks assigned as needed.

Becoming a member of CMP NM Support Staff is a worthwhile opportunity for any competition-goer. Not only do they earn behind-the-scenes access to the CMP competitions process, they’re also open to creating lasting memories with staff members and participants along the way.

Why Should I Be Interested in CMP NM Support Staff?

Chosen individuals will receive a per diem travel stipend (based on amount of time worked) and special benefits offered only to those who graciously donate their time to helping us provide an exceptional experience for all of our guests.

What Do I Need to Know?

Support members MUST be at least 18 years of age to apply. No past experience is needed, though knowledge of guns, gun safety and range procedures is a plus!

Those chosen will attend a specialized Range Officer training course, provided by the CMP, that will quickly brush up on all you need to know. The Range Officer Course is typically offered for $75/person, but is completely FREE for NM Support Staff members.

Can I Still Compete If I’m on the NM Support Staff Team?

Our helpers are welcome and encouraged to compete during times he or she is not assisting.

How Do I Apply?

Visit our website at http://thecmp.org/competitions/competition-volunteers/ or contact Vera Snyder at 419-635-2141 ext. 782 or volunteer@thecmp.org
