Pennsylvania S3DA Holds 2018 State 3-D Championship

Williamsburg, KY – Pennsylvania S3DA held their 3-D State Championship at Cushion Peak Rod & Gun Club in Reinholds, Pennsylvania. Approximately, 43 archers from over 10 different clubs and teams participated in this event. Cushion Peak set-up a world class 20-target range. All participating archers received food, drinks, and tournament t-shirts from Reading Archery Club, Big Shot Targets, and Cushion Peak Rod and Gun Club.

“The course was exceptionally well-planned and laid out. It was challenging but fun for everybody. The archers were very courteous and extremely well behaved. Everyone had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to next year,” stated Hemlock Coach, Michael Carpenter.

Reading Archery S3DA Coach, Bob Lauffer said, “I am very pleased with how far Pennsylvania S3DA has come in just two years. We had an outstanding competition mostly because we are working with outstanding young archers. We certainly have a lot of room to grow, but absolutely love how S3DA is taking off in our state”.

Pennsylvania State Coordinator, Dan Schuller stated, “With storms forecast in the area, we moved this event up a half-hour to avoid the weather. All participating clubs did a terrific job communicating this to all competing archers and families. It was great to see some familiar faces from last year’s competition. Several archers made great improvement in their performance from last year. We also saw several high scores over 200 on a challenging up and downhill course. Congratulations to all who participated and good luck to the archers competing in the National Championship in Metropolis!”

Pennsylvania S3DA would like to send thanks to Cushion Peak Rod and Gun Club for hosting the event. Special thanks to parents, coaches and participants for making this event possible. If you have any questions or if you would like to join the PA S3DA Program, please e-mail Dan Schuller, PA State Coordinator at dschuller@lancasterarchery.com.

The S3DA 3-D National Championship will be held June 22-24, 2018 in Metropolis, Illinois.
