Pope and Young Announces 2018 Bowhunters Rendezvous

Chatfield, MN - The Pope and Young Club is proud to announce that their bi-annual Bowhunters Rendezvous will be held June 8th - 10th of 2018, at the MacKenzie Center in Poynette, Wisconsin. The event is open to all archers and will be an incredible, action-packed, archery event. The 2018 Rendezvous will be a celebration of archery and bowhunting with activities for men, women, and children of all ages.

Attendees will find themed 3-D courses, a long-range competition, an iron bear challenge, an aerial disk station and a bowfishing fishing demo area. You will also be able to participate in clinics like the "Leading Ladies Outdoors" session for lady bowhunters or the "Raised At Full Draw" mini-camp for beginning bowhunters. There will be an adventure race, kid courses and activities, great food, nearby lodging/resorts, hunt auctions, primitive camping, bowhunting seminars, gear giveaways, prize drawings and much more. Thousands of dollars worth of targets will be auctioned at the end of the 3-day event.

The MacKenzie Outdoor Education Center is located on 500 acres near Poynette, Wisconsin, in Columbia County. Due to its centralized location and outdoor oriented facilities, it is the perfect location for the P&Y Bowhunters Rendezvous. Just 25 miles north of Madison, the MacKenzie Center is one of the most diverse educational centers in Wisconsin with interpretive trails, exhibits, and museums. MacKenzie is a wonderful place to visit and learn about the natural world. The Bowhunters Rendezvous promises to be a family-oriented, mega shooting event and social gathering. All proceeds go toward the Pope and Young Club's Conservation, Education and Outreach Fund.

"We are very pleased that the Pope and Young Club has chosen the Mackenzie Center once again as the site for its 2018 Rendezvous," said Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary, Dan Meyer. "It's partnerships like these that create win-win situations for all involved. Pope and Young is a highly respected organization, and I can't think of a better venue than the MacKenzie Center for this event."

The 2018 Bowhunters Rendezvous is an incredible opportunity to visit with top bowhunting equipment manufacturers and participate in hands-on demonstrations of the latest traditional and modern archery equipment. Enjoy shooting multiple, unique hunting venues featuring the latest Rinehart, McKenzie and 3D Shooter targets. Enter hourly drawings for great prizes from event sponsors, meet with top outfitters and talk with hunting celebrities.

The Wisconsin Scholastic 3-D Archery will be part of this year's Rendezvous. We anticipate close to 200 kids attending this year's event. They will be competing for awards as individuals and teams in Elementary, Middle and High School age groups plus a chance to qualify for the S3DA national tournaments. Archers will shoot twenty 3-D targets for score, and then the top five in each division will be part of the "shoot-off" in front of the crowd at the end of the day. Also featured will be the Wisconsin S3DA target archery state tournament. Archers will shoot a marked yardage range at Bulls-eye style targets at distances determined by their age and equipment. This format is similar to those shot at the Olympics. Archers will shoot six rounds of six arrows for score, then additional head to head shoot-off rounds to determine overall winners in each division.
