Special Drawing to be Held for Trapping at Pickerel Creek and Pipe Creek (OH) Wildlife Areas

Pickerel Creek and Pipe Creek Wildlife Areas

FINDLAY, OH - A one-time drawing will be held Thursday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. for trapping in the controlled hunting areas at Pickerel Creek and Pipe Creek Wildlife Areas, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

The drawing will be held at the Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area Headquarters, located at 3451 C.R. 256, Vickery 43464.

All participants must register before 6:25 p.m., and must show a valid 2017-2018 Ohio Fur Taker Permit. Anyone interested in registering should plan on being at the Pickerel Creek Headquarters by 6 p.m.

Registration forms will be completed by the trapper and placed in a drum. As these forms are drawn, that trapper must select a unit to trap. There are six available units at Pickerel Creek and two available units at Pipe Creek. A letter permit will be mailed to the participant, and further instructions will be given by the Wildlife Area Supervisor.

The permit will be valid for portions of the trapping season, with some restrictions on times. No one may enter the controlled trapping area for inspection prior to receiving a permit.

Permits are not transferable. All trappers that are chosen must meet with the Wildlife Area Supervisor for specific instructions prior to the start of the trapping activity.

It is unlawful for any person to buy, sell, trade or barter any ODNR Division of Wildlife issued controlled hunting, fishing or trapping permit.
