Spring Mill SP celebrates the 200-year-old mill
Music, tours and hands-on programs highlight a weekend-long celebration of Spring Mill State Park's 200-year-old grist mill, Oct. 21-22.
At 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, Lawrence County Tourism executive director Tonya Chastain will unveil a stone carving in the Pioneer Village by artist Cheryl Anne Lorance. At 3 p.m., the park will serve cake to celebrate the mill's 200th anniversary, available first-come, first-served to 500 visitors.
Musical performances on Saturday are Wildflowers and Weeds, the Johnsons, and Stony Point.
Musical performances on Sunday are the Griffins, Tim and Susan Key, the Dickies, and the Canfields.
Other programs both days include hourly demonstrations of the grist mill and village crafters demonstrating their skills.
Park admission during the event is $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
