Clean Drain Dry Initiative Announces Operation Save the Wake

Operation Save the Wake™

Brooklyn Center, MN – With the goal of raising $10,000, Wildlife Forever has teamed up with WakeMN to announce Operation Save the Wake™. This new initiative works to engage the watersports industry and fans of wake surfing and boarding with invasive species prevention and keeping access open to Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.

WakeMN is Minnesota's top waters sportswear company donating proceeds from apparel and gear sold in the exclusive Save the Wake Collection. Funds generated will support Wildlife Forever's Clean Drain Dry Initiative™, America's leading invasive species prevention and awareness campaign.

"Watersports are one of the fastest growing sectors of outdoor recreation. With specialized boats and equipment, our goal is to make conservation relevant and educate the need for invasive species awareness. We're taking a fun new twist on Clean Drain Dry and are thrilled to be working with WakeMN," said Pat Conzemius, Conservation Director with Wildlife Forever.

Wake boats often have ballast tanks to create large waves for aerials and tricks. The challenge can often be not fully draining and drying tanks or equipment before boating on different lakes. Invaders can live for several days in undrained water thus Clean Drain Dry is critically important.

"I love wakeboarding as much as any angler loves fishing. It's in my blood and at WakeMN we're all about protecting the resource and doing our part to ensure we have access to healthy lakes and rivers", said Devon Noehring, CEO of WakeMN. "Supporting Wildlife Forever and giving back to the Clean Drain Dry Initiative is our commitment to protecting our sport."
