Evinrude Donates Engine to West Rhode Riverkeeper

STURTEVANT, WI – BRP (TSX:DOO) announced today that Evinrude has partnered with the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) to donate a newly refurbished 90 horsepower Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine to the West/Rhode Riverkeeper.

"We're thrilled and honored to have been selected for this donation," said Jeff Holland, riverkeeper. "Our old 50-horsepower outboard died last season. With this new motor, we're once again able to conduct water quality monitoring with our corps of citizen-scientist volunteers."

Technicians at the Rhode River Marina in Edgewater, Maryland installed the new outboard on the organization's 18-foot center-console runabout. Marina owner Brian Conner donated the cost of the installation.

"I am so glad to be able to put our relationships with Evinrude and the West/Rhode Riverkeeper together," said John Adey, president, ABYC. "Having ABYC member and Evinrude dealer Rhode River Marina do the rigging is the perfect complement to this donated engine."

"We're excited to support the important conservation work of the West/Rhode Riverkeeper," said Jeff Wasil, engineering manager in Emissions Testing, Certification and Regulatory Development, Evinrude. "Their dedication to water resource management will ensure that recreational boaters continue to have access to safe and healthy waterways."

The West/Rhode Riverkeeper serves as the only citizen-based environmental organization whose sole mission is to preserve and protect the West and Rhode Rivers. The nonprofit group keeps the rivers clean through restoration projects; advocacates for better environmental policies and enforcement of environmental laws; and keeps sewage from the rivers by providing pump-out service to recreational boats.

Since 1954, the nonprofit American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) has developed safety standards for boat design, construction, equipage, repair and maintenance. The essential global source of marine industry technical information, ABYC's product safety standards, credentialing, education, training and other tools help members make boating safer.
