AcuSport's Range Program Manager Joins Lead Management Workshop

NEWTOWN, Conn.-The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that Doug VanderWoude will be joining the growing list of experts speaking at the association's fall Lead Management and OSHA Compliance Workshop, taking place October 16-18 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

VanderWoude is a 35-year veteran of the retail firearms industry, having spent 29 of those years behind a gun counter. His career experience includes the establishment of a firearms retail store with an indoor shooting range, he was a charter member of the industry's first performance evaluation and improvement group and is a member of NSSF's Range Advisory Council. Today, after serving for years as a private consultant to ranges across the country, VanderWoude is the Range Program Manager for AcuSport Corporation, working with existing ranges on ways to improve their profitability and advising new ranges during their startup stages.

"Doug is quickly becoming one of NSSF's most popular speakers when it comes to advice on creating and maintaining a healthy and profitable firearms range," said Zach Snow, NSSF Manager, Shooting Promotions. "His expertise will be an asset to our fall workshop."

"I'm excited to present 'Driving Growth-Marketing Tools You Need Now,'" said VanderWoude. "It costs money to be OSHA compliant, and my presentation will help those attending this workshop discover ways to attract more paying customers to their ranges, thereby improving both the ability to cover those costs and increase general profitability."

Designed to enable owners and operators of shooting ranges of all sizes an opportunity to discover the latest in lead management and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) best practices, the two-day workshop will focus on environmental and regulatory requirements for both indoor and outdoor shooting facilities, OSHA enforcement and penalty structure, implementation of health and safety plans, medical surveillance and other issues relevant to compliance.
