Linden's 'Fur, Feathers, Friends' Event a Near-Sellout

TV host Scott Linden's first annual "Fur Feathers Friends" military salute is a virtual sellout, all but one hunt filled by fans of his Wingshooting USA TV series who will hunt alongside retired and active duty military guests sharing their time, birds and the skills of their hunting dogs. Over a dozen states are represented by fans traveling to the event.

Scheduled for Nov. 11-12 at Ravenwood Lodge near Topeka, Kansas, unexpected demand led Ravenwood to open another field for hunting, enabling more fans and military guests to attend. Those hunts filled quickly, so additional sporting clays squads have been added to accommodate those wishing to extend their visit or spend an hour or two helping say "thank you" to those serving or having served, in any branch of the armed forces.

Fur, Feathers, Friends is the culmination of Linden's annual "Cabela's Awesome Upland Road Trip … destination Kansas." Each fall, he and his TV crew travel throughout bird-hunting country producing episodes of his show, and visiting with fans at Cabela's stores and other events. The military salute is the Road Trip's grand finale. "Time in the field, admiring dogs doing their best, is a unique way to thank military personnel and veterans for their service to America," he said. Fans picked the state, the type of event, even the date, he added.

Wingshooting USA is the official TV series of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, airing on 11 television networks and is the longest-running and most-watched upland bird hunting TV series in the U.S.
