Raccoon SRA to host Centennial Pedal Parade

Raccoon State Recreation Area will host an all-ages Centennial Bicycle Parade on Saturday, Aug. 6, to celebrate 100 years of Indiana State Parks.

A bicycle safety demonstration runs from 6 to 6:10 p.m. After the demonstration, participants can decorate their bikes for the parade, which will run from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

A limited amount of decorating supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring special items to make their bike look unique, especially items related to Indiana State Parks or Indiana history.

Participants should meet at Chapel Shelter near the campground.

This program is free and open to all park visitors.

The standard park admission fee of $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle applies.
