The ultimate hunting dog test on Wingshooting USA TV this weekend

This week on Scott Linden's Wingshooting USA TV, some of the best hunting dogs in the country are challenged at the Invitational test of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association. Canine athletes compete against a standard that requires dogs to perform flawlessly in search, point, back, retrieve, and honor … on land and water. Owners and dogs face the ultimate in challenging hunting situations as well as heat and humidity in their quest for a coveted "Versatile Champion" title … usually earned by fewer than half of the entrants.

Building an informative television program was also challenging, Linden said, as he and his crew could not interfere with the dogs' performance. Maintaining safety amidst live fire was another of the many complications. Linden described it as "putting camera operators on the field during the Super Bowl." Aerial footage, hidden cameras and long lenses were all put to use in the crew's effort to capture the action.

The program airs Saturday 6:30 a.m. Eastern on Discovery Network's American Heroes Channel; Sunday, 7 a.m. Eastern on Discovery's Destination America as well as eight other networks. The full broadcast schedule is available at: https://scottlindenoutdoors.com/wingshootingusa/where-to-watch/
