New Fishing Regulations Finalized for MDWFP Lakes

JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Fisheries Bureau announced changes to fishing regulations at four MDWFP lakes. These changes go into effect on June 23, 2016.

At Calling Panther Lake in Copiah County, the daily creel limit for largemouth bass will be 10 bass per angler. At Lake Claude Bennett in Jasper County, the daily creel limit for largemouth bass has been increased to 30 bass per angler. At Charlie Capps WMA in Bolivar County, the 15-inch minimum length limit on largemouth bass has been removed, and anglers are allowed to harvest bass of any size.

At Spring Lake, located within Wall Doxey State Park near Holly Springs, the harvest of walleye is prohibited. Anglers must immediately release all walleye that are caught.
