Indianapolis Symphonic Band to perform free outdoor concert at Fort Harrison SP

The Indianapolis Symphonic Band will perform a free, outdoor concert at Fort Harrison State Park on Saturday, May 28.

The 45-minute concert will start at 7:30 p.m. at the sledding hill and will feature popular patriotic music performed by a symphonic wind band.

The Indianapolis Symphonic Band includes professional and amateur musicians from across central Indiana. It has been performing in the Indianapolis area for more than 60 years.

The former Fort Harrison Military Reservation had a long history of outdoor concerts from regimental U.S. Army bands. Wind band performances at Fort Harrison date to 1912.

Concert attendees should bring blankets or chairs, bug spray and snacks. The concert is pet and stroller friendly.

The concert is free after paying the standard park entrance fee of $7 per in-state vehicle or $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
