DENVER (April 29, 2016) – Most folks are excited for Christmas and birthdays because of the gifts received. But for Pigman, it's when Hornady makes a new bullet and asks him to test it on one of the toughest animals to kill – the wild hog. In this week's Leupold's Pigman: The Series, Brian "Pigman" Quaca tests the Hornady ELD-X ammo in a variety of guns and settings to see if it truly lives up to the hype. Tune in for Leupold's Pigman: The Series exclusively on Sportsman Channel on Sunday, May 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
While the Hornady staff heads to Germany for wild hog hunting, Pigman steps out his back door in eastern Texas for the same thing. And his dad, Dap and son, JD, are there with him to test the Hornady ELD-X – a new ammo claiming to be faster and with a flatter trajectory. Since the Pig crew are serious about their ammo – they are also serious about reloading. Pigman takes viewers through the steps to reloading, while using Hornady's reloading manual, of course. "If you are serious into hunting, reloading your own ammo is probably one of the most rewarding things you can do," stated Pigman.
First Dap, then Pigman, then JD head out to the back forty on Pig's ranch to test their Hornady ammo loaded specifically for their guns. And each one sees a hog down in a manner not seen many times on Pigman's show. Viewers will have to tune in to see if the Pig crew enjoyed Hornady's gifts and the end results.
Season 7 finds Quaca back with a renewed sense of self and a new motto tattooed on his arm: Vsetko Umiera, which is Slovak for: "everything dies." Season 6 of Leupold's Pigman: The Series was a year of recovery and reflection for the host after a horrific highway accident in December, 2014 that left him recuperating more than hunting.
