Clyde River Salmon Presentation Thurs. in Newport, VT

NEWPORT, Vt. -- State Fisheries Biologist Lenny Gerardi will present a free slide show and talk on Clyde River Salmon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10 in Suite 250 (top floor conference room) of the Emory Hebard State Office Building at 100 Main Street in Newport.

Fishing for landlocked Atlantic salmon on the Clyde River in Newport was once renowned throughout the region. The salmon fishing is again booming, and attracting the attention of anglers from throughout Vermont and well beyond.

Gerardi will give a status update on the Clyde River salmon, reviewing information that Fish & Wildlife Department staff have collected over the past decade at the Newport fish ladder and during surveys of fish and fishing in the river between West Charleston and Lake Memphremagog.

Following the talk, there will be time for questions from the public and open discussion. For more information, contact Lenny Gerardi at (802) 751-0108, or email at len.gerardi@vermont.gov.
