Jefferson City, Mo - The Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving. CFM is focusing on the future of conservation by raising funds for conservation education. One venue CFM is highlighting is a relatively new organization, the Missouri Collegiate Conservation Alliance (MCCA).

#GivingTuesday is the first Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The day harnesses the collective power of individuals by celebrating and encouraging giving, whether that is through donations, time or services. This year it falls on December 1.

"Giving Tuesday is a way for CFM to highlight the importance of instilling conservation ideals in budding conservationists," said Brandon Butler, executive director of CFM. "Supporting a great appreciation for conservation early is key in creating lifelong outdoorsmen dedicated to protecting precious natural resources."

MCCA is an organization for college students interested in impacting conservation. They bring awareness to conservation issues in Missouri to colleges and universities throughout the state. Donations made for #GivingTuesday will go to various aspects of developing, advertising and promoting MCCA and other conservation education endeavors.
