VEC to Host Wildflowers Program

Dr. Lelia Kelly, Associate Extension Professor and Consumer Horticulture Specialist for the Mississippi State University Extension Service will present a program about Mississippi wildflowers at the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center (VEC) on Saturday, September 12 at 2 p.m. Dr. Kelly will discuss native plant identification, and the benefits of using these plants in the home garden and landscape. Weather permitting, the VEC grounds will be toured to view examples of native plants in the landscape.


The program is free with the price of admission. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60. For additional information, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.

The VEC is part of MDWFP's North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
