Michigan DNR To Host Public Meeting April 8 on Lake Angeline Boat Launch Plans

The Department of Natural Resources today announced that it will host an open houseSite of proposed boat launch on Lake Angeline
Wednesday, April 8, to share draft plans for a new boat launch on Lake Angeline in Ishpeming, Michigan (Marquette County). The open house will take place from 4-7 p.m. at the Ishpeming Township Hall, 1575 U.S. Hwy. 41 West.

The DNR encourages area residents and interested stakeholders to visit the hall anytime during the open house to review design plan drafts and provide input on the planned public access to Lake Angeline.

"This open house is an excellent opportunity for the public to ask questions and discuss the project with DNR Parks and Recreation staff," said Dan Dowdy, unit supervisor for Baraga State Park and for the new boat launch planned for Lake Angeline.

The boat launch will be located on the southwestern corner of Lake Angeline, and access will be available from Pine Street and Lower Pine Street. Construction is proposed for mid-August through the end of October.

Funding for this project is provided by the Natural Resource Damage Fund, resulting from a consent judgment from Upper Peninsula Power Company.

For more information or updates about the April 8 open house, contact Dan Dowdy at 906-353-6558 or DNR regional planner Eric Cadeau at 906-353-6651.
