Huntington Takes .38 Special Wadcutters Out To 100 Yards

In the latest video in the "Roy's Insider Tips" series, American Handgunner Publisher Roy Huntington examines the effectiveness of .38 Special wadcutters at 100 yards. He uses a Smith & Wesson 6" Model 14 and a 2 1/4" J-Frame loaded with Federal Gold Medal Match and Black Hills Ammo 148-grain midrange target wadcutters - and had a lot of fun while testing this pair of sixguns.

"Shooting should be about fun, and fun should be their middle name when it comes to .38 Special target wadcutters," Roy says. "These low recoil, accurate loads are perfect for honing your target shooting skills, plinking and even some small-game hunting. I used to compete in PPC shooting where we used .38 Special wadcutters out to 50 yards. But I knew they could do well at 100, and our latest video shows not only how accurate they can be 'out there' but ramps up the fun factor even more."

Also in this video, Roy dispels the myth that barrel length directly impacts accuracy.

"Don't let anyone tell you a small-frame revolver can't shoot either," Roy says. "We'll see what a 2" S&W J-Frame can do with target wadcutters at 100 yards in this video. Prepare to be amazed!"
