FLW presents the 2015 State-Fish Art Contest

BROOKLYN CENTER, MN - The 17th annual Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art season, open to kids in Grades K-12, ends on March 31st ... you have to enter to win!

Students across the United States and internationally have the opportunity to win prizes and recognition while learning about state-fish species, behaviors, aquatic habitats, and conservation. The State-Fish Art Contest uses art to ignite children's imagination while teaching them about fish and fishing.

The 2015 State-Fish Art Contest, presented by FLW, is open to all students and is seeking entries. The first-place winning state artists, written word winners, and their families, will be invited to attend the EXPO held in conjunction with FLW during the Forrest L. Wood Cup bass world championship on August 21-22 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Every attending winner is recognized personally on stage receiving awards, fishing gear and prizes. National Art winners, including the Best of Show and Art of Conservation, are also announced and awarded.

Winning contestants from each state, plus Ontario, Canada and international entries, will be honored in four grade categories, K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. All winning art and written words will receive national recognition on the State-Fish Art website and be displayed on the "Wall of Honor" at the EXPO.

Those attending the EXPO will be treated to a wide variety of family events throughout the weekend including access to the FLW Cup, fishing and casting fun plus the opportunity to meet Legends of the Fishing World!

Entries must be postmarked by March 31, 2015. Judging will be held in April and winners announced Friday, May 8, 2015.

To enter, young artists must create an original illustration of their chosen state-fish. A personal one- page written essay, story or poem on its behavior, habitat, and conservation needs is also required and awarded.
