NWTF Reaching NASCAR Fans Through New Spokesperson, Ryan Newman

EDGEFIELD, S.C. - The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) recently announced a partnership with NASCAR driver Ryan Newman. The racing veteran, who recently wrapped up a great racing season, will act as spokesperson for the Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative.

"As an avid outdoorsman and somebody who understands the importance of conservation and preservation of hunting, I look forward to the opportunity to raise awareness and help people understand the things they can do to make a difference in habitat, so we and generations to come have the ability to hunt and enjoy the outdoors," said Newman.

Through the partnership, Newman will promote initiative messaging across a variety of NWTF media outlets. Newman will also promote the NWTF through outlets available to him as a NASCAR driver and professional athlete.

"If the NWTF hopes to increase hunting and shooting sports participation numbers, we need to reach out to audiences outside the hunting industry," said George Thornton, NWTF CEO. "We look forward to working with Ryan as we continue our push toward meeting our Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative goals.

About Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.
The NWTF Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative is a charge that mobilizes science, fundraising and devoted volunteers to give the NWTF more energy and purpose than ever. Through this national initiative, NWTF has committed to raising $1.2 billion to conserve or enhance more than 4 million acres of essential upland wildlife habitat, create at least 1.5 million hunters and open access to 500,000 acres for hunting, shooting and outdoor enjoyment. Without hunters, there will be no wildlife or habitat. The NWTF is determined to Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.
