OK Schedules Surplus Property Auction

Are you in the market for a used all-terrain vehicle, pickup bed toolbox or perhaps an airboat? You might find the perfect bargain Nov. 8 at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's surplus property auction.

"It's sort of like a giant sale for the outdoorsman or the landowner," said Johnny Hill, property manager for the Department.

"There are hundreds of surplus items that will be for sale at the auction, and anybody who buys something will be supporting the Wildlife Department at the same time." Hill said. "Each year, buyers walk away with some real bargains, so come join us and get in on a good deal."

Bidders will have a chance to buy boats and boat motors, office furnishings, computers, audio-visual equipment, mowing and landscaping equipment, a travel trailer, tractors, a combine and various pieces of agricultural equipment. For an updated list of auction items, go online to wildlifedepartment.com.

Registration for bidders will start at 8:30 a.m., and the public auction will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Lake Burtschi Lake Maintenance Office, 11 miles west of Chickasha on State Highway 92. Items can be inspected from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7. In case of rain, the auction will be rescheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.

The mission of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is the management of Oklahoma's wildlife resources and habitat to provide scientific, educational, aesthetic, economic and recreational benefits for present and future generations of hunters, anglers and others who appreciate wildlife.
