POSITION SUMMARY:
This position works with freelance writers to procure, write, edit, coordinate production of and upload content to the Bass Pro 1Source website. Key to this task is focusing on areas of text, graphics and video to search optimize content with keywords, meta-tags and descriptions. The online media specialist will also write occasional blogs and curate content for 1Source. This position is tasked to assist and perform administrative duties in the following social channels: Bass Pro Shops 1Source Facebook, Google+ pages, as well as Bass Pro Shops YouTube account, posting approved content to support 1Source and brands sold by Bass Pro Shops. The online media specialist will produce monthly reports on the traffic and sales from videos posted to YouTube and Bass Pro Shops product pages. In addition, the online media specialist assigns, writes, edits and curates content for a monthly 1Source newsletter.

This position will work with various 3rd party vendors, freelance writers as well as various levels of associates, such as Bass Pro Shops social team, email marketing specialist, corporate communications, video department, merchandising, branding managers, creative staff and performance analyst.

Special projects and duties as assigned.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with freelance writers, creating and maintaining an editorial calendar, assigning topics, procure, edit, write headlines and upload this content to 1Source website, with focus on content marketing and search engine optimization.

2. Manage and approve posts to 1Source social media sites, including Facebook and Google+.

3. Select seasonal appropriate content for the 1Source monthly newsletter and coordinate production and distribution.

4. Primary liaison to 1Source talk forum approved moderators. On occasion will engage with forum members for 1Source or Bass Pro announcements, create topics for online conversation and/or participate in selected conversations.

5. Manage product demonstration videos submitted by vendors to ensure they're within Bass Pro Shops standards and submit videos from vendors and Bass Pro video department on Product Pages and YouTube page, while tracking analytical data using Adobe Omniture, as well as YouTube analytics to analyze video performance.

EDUCATION DESIRED:
Four-year degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE
• Three to five years in a similar capacity that involved working with writers in an editorial capacity, or 3-5 years with experience in SEO best practices, tools and techniques.

• Experience in outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and camping.

• Possess above average interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written. Has experience in communicating effectively with all levels of internal and external associates.

• Candidate demonstrates through past experience good problem solving skills.

• Well organized with an above average attention to detail and strong understanding of Associated Press Style.

• Experienced in planning ahead with ability to work with multiple outside writers and prioritize content, as well as, good project follow-up skills.

• Detail oriented, multi-tasker, able to balance competing priorities & tight deadlines.

• Can use basic programming and web design skills to enhance SEO.

• Has a marketing/merchandising vision.

• Has an understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), basic and social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube.
