Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge to Host Wild Weekend

In celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week, Cypress Creek Refuge will offer free guided canoe tours October 10 throughout the day. Tours will depart from the Lower Cache River Access and feature a unique array of plant and animal species. Attractions in this area include wood ducks, belted kingfishers, bald cypress and tupelo trees, as well as pileated woodpeckers, great blue herons and more.

The Lower Cache River Access is located 4 miles south of Cypress, IL. From Route 37, turn west and drive approximately 2 miles on Perks Road, then proceed south (left) for 1 mile on Access Road
