MT Fish & Wildlife Commission Conference Call Set For Aug. 26

Montana's Fish & Wildlife Commission will meet via telephone conference call on Aug. 26 to adopt the upcoming seasons' waterfowl hunting regulations.

The call, set to begin at 8:30 a.m., will be telecast from FWP headquarters, 1420 E. Sixth Ave., in Helena to each FWP regional office.

Commissioners also will take final action on the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe's waterfowl regulations; funding for 10 Future Fisheries habitat improvement projects; an addition of nearly 20 acres to the Otter Island Fisheries Conservation Area on Flathead River near Kalispell; and acquiring a road easement for public access at York Gulch near Helena.

Additionally, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will seek the commission's endorsement to proceed with negotiations with the City of Townsend for a water right on Deep Creek, and on a fishing and boating agreement with Hill County at Beaver Creek County Park south of Havre.

The meeting will begin with an update on Montana's drought status and water supply.
