On the Road, On the Water, Don't Drink and Drive 2014 Kick-Off

RALEIGH, N.C. - A news conference will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 19, to kick-off "On the Road, On the Water, Don't Drink and Drive," an annual multi-agency safety initiative aimed at summer holiday travel.

WHERE: Upper Barton Creek Boating Access Area on Falls Lake, 12900 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27614, directions.

WHY: The campaign will work to reduce accidents on the state's roadways and waterways, which see increased traffic during summer months. Many accidents are alcohol-related.

WHO: N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, State Highway Patrol, Alcohol Law Enforcement, Forensic Tests for Alcohol, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Governor's Highway Safety Program, U.S. Coast Guard, local police and sheriff's offices, Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
