MDWFP To Host WMA Open House Meetings
JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is hosting a series of six open house meetings across the state to gain public input on proposed Wildlife Management Area (WMA) regulations. These meetings will showcase proposed WMA regulation changes for the 2014-15 hunting season. All WMA users, adjacent landowners, hunting clubs, and interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

"It is very important for MDWFP to meet with our customers and hear input from the public at every available opportunity," said Chris McDonald, MDWFP Wildlife Bureau Assistant Director. "These meetings will give us the opportunity to promote our WMA system, gain input from the public regarding regulations, and provide information about WMAs to the public."

The meetings will be from 3 - 6 p.m. on the dates and at the locations listed below:
April 22: Mahannah WMA near Vicksburg
April 23: Roosevelt State Park near Morton
April 29: Franklin County Public Library in Meadville
May 6: Tombigbee State Park near Tupelo
May 7: North Mississippi Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center near Enid
May 13: Paul B Johnson State Park near Hattiesburg

MDWFP WMA personnel, wildlife biologists, and law enforcement officers will be in attendance to answer questions from the public regarding proposed regulation changes.
