PIKE COUNTY, Ill. - Each year, thousands of outdoor enthusiasts enter America's fields and timber looking for antlers shed by white-tailed deer. For years, their findings could only be shared with a few friends. Thanks to social media, the time has come for that to change.
Now it's time for America to shed hunt together.
On March 1, Whitetail Properties Real Estate and several of the most respected brands in the outdoor industry are calling on all hunters to participate in the first-ever #ShedRally - the world's largest shed hunt.
What is #ShedRally? It's anyone and everyone getting outside on March 1, hunting for shed antlers and uploading photos to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and using the hashtag, #ShedRally. The video found at Youtube.com/WhitetailPropTV explains more.
"We want to make history by organizing the largest shed hunt ever," said Michael Turbyfill, Whitetail Properties public relations and marketing director. "Social media allows us to unite outdoor enthusiasts in one conversation and no matter your state or region, if you're shed hunting on March 1 and using the #ShedRally hashtag, the world can see your photos in real time."
Throughout February, the Whitetail Properties team of pros will post shed hunting tips, tactics, and exclusive photos and videos on the official Whitetail Properties Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. These can be found at Facebook.com/WhitetailProperties and on Twitter and Instagram using the @WhitetailProperties handle.
"Part of the reason we down monster whitetails each fall is due to information we gather shed hunting," said Paul Sawyer, Whitetail Properties vice president of marketing. "The #ShedRally is a great opportunity to educate America about shed hunting with an original idea that cements our brand as a leader among real estate companies."
