Backcountry Adventures Press announces the official launch of the new book, Backcountry Devotions, this week during the meeting of the Professional Outdoor Media Association in Columbia, SC. Written by veteran outdoor communicator Doug Gilmer (a.k.a. The Backcountry Chaplain), Backcountry Devotions was written to keep one connected to their faith while out on the trail, in a hunting camp, or while sitting at home in their favorite chair. Not a "preachy book", each devotion is written and illustrated from a perspective people who love the outdoors will easily relate to. It includes fifteen devotions, four guided Bible studies, a list of Bible verses applicable to the outdoors, and the lyrics from six, outdoor-inspired hymns. Backcountry Devotions is slim and fits easily into a pack or briefcase. From month to month, and year to year, the application of these devotions and studies to the ever changing seasons of life and circumstance will keeps them relevant, inspiring, and motivating. The book is ideal for solo hikes, for faith-based trip guides leading groups on backcountry adventures or for other small group applications where an outdoor theme might be appreciated.
Backcountry Devotions can be purchased through Amazon.com. Barnes & Noble, the Liberty University Bookstore, and other select book retailers around the country. It is available in both print and e-book versions.
