Raymarine is seeking a Retail Sales Manager for their West Marine Headquarters located in Watsonville, CA. This position will be responsible for product sales and complete key account management of West Marine for the North America territory. Duties and responsibilities for this position will include: . Support activities for West Marine include training of store personnel, in-store merchandising, promotions and special events.
Develop and implement creative plans to drive sell through for the channel. Plans need to cover all channels of customer operations including retail stores, wholesale sales, force and direct sales including catalogs and internet.
Identify and coordinate all Raymarine resources required for properly supporting key customers, including sales administration, marketing, shipping, credit and accounting, applications engineering and customer service.
Serve as primary point of contact for West Marine and develop business building relationships at all levels within West Marine.
Recruit, hire, train, retain and supervise additional resources as directed by the Director of Western US.
Develop and monitor bookings and revenue forecasts for the channel.
Help train, coach, develop and motivate sales associates within assigned territory to competently sell Raymarine products
Assist in the preparation of marketing communications materials for use in promotion of the products within assigned market and territory.
Provide input into long range strategic planning & new product development for the channel.
Responsible for monitoring, reporting, and managing performance against budget throughout the year.
Assure that all actions of the company within the area of responsibility are in accordance with federal regulations. Specifically, assure that all transactions are in compliance with FCPA guidelines and export department regulations. Assure that no side agreements or undocumented agreements exist with regards to terms, conditions, or agent compensation.
Require to travel approximately 50% of the time, providing regular visits to West Marine stores, trade shows and special events.
Provide support to Port Supply through quarterly conference calls and sales calls with Port Supply Sales Managers.
Perform other job related duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have a BS degree with a strong technical background plus a minimum of 6 years' of experience with selling high technology equipment and/or components to volume retail customers and markets, with strong preference to maritime focused products. Experience in forecasting and budget planning. Must be capable of understanding and communicating technical attributes and benefits associated with thermal imaging products to sales personnel.
